App of the Week – Feedly

RSS Feeds are all over the internet, practically every website has one. It is the best way to see when your favorite sites post new stories or articles instead of refreshing each websites page. Applications that show all of your RSS Feeds are called RSS Readers. This week’s App of the Week is an RSS Reader called Feedly.

Verizon teases the Xoom 2?

Could Motorola and Verizon already be preparing for a Xoom 2 launch? A Verizon ad that aired in June leads myself and countless others to believe so. The ad shows a lady blowing up her house with a tablet (not really but that is what it seems like). Then at the end it shows an unannounced Honeycomb tablet speculated to be the Xoom 2.

It is far to early for a replacement for the Xoom to be released even though better chipsets are nearly ready for tablets like the NVIDIA Tegtra 3 quad-core CPU. November is probably the earliest Motorola can release a new Xoom without angering early adopters. What do you think?

Apple sues Motorola and claims that the Xoom infringes on their patents

Apple’s lawyers have been really busy lately. They have attacked Samsung in just about every country because the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S infringed on their patents (according to them). There was some merit to those cases, but now Apple is going after the Xoom which is completely ridiculous. Apple is trying to intimidate all the other tech companies so that they can sell their iPad with no competition. Hopefully the courts laugh at Apple and throw this case out.

England Xooms finally getting 3.1 update

We just reported that US Xooms have been updated to 3.2, but the UK ones are just now receiving the 3.1 update. This over-the-air update will enable the SD card slot as well as all of the bug fixes and enhancements that 3.1 brings.

Verizon Xooms get 3.2 update

The Wi-Fi Xooms got the update treatment first, but now it is time for Verizon users to get some love. It has been rolling out the past few days and has finally brought microSD support!

The other changes include zoom to fill screen, an improved Movie Rental experience, and more!

If you have not been prompted already, then go to Settings > About tablet > System updates to grab the update. Enjoy!
